What You'll Do
In this role, you'll support mission critical data pipelines and applications platforms that fuel our global RWE business. You will play a key role in supporting Flatiron’s Trusted Research Environment (TRE), a secure, cloud-based analytics platform that hosts our global RWE datasets. You'll focus on keeping production operations running smoothly by tackling high priority issues, triaging user questions, and driving resolution of technical escalations. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the application and technical infrastructure from experienced team members. In addition, you'll also:
- Perform monitoring and triage issues related to data pipelines that are foundational to the data products that we deliver to customers as part of our RWE business
- Support the data delivery lifecycle in the TRE, including managing data ingestion pipelines
- Develop workflow and technical expertise on how the TRE and our internal tools/systems work to provide high quality first line user support
- Participate in the incident management process to help restore service as quickly as possible in the event of production issues/outages
- Work with product and engineering teams to investigate, prioritize, track, and resolve application issues through clearly defined steps for reproducibility and recommended corrective actions/fixes
- Use SQL and other data processing tools to understand feature usage and make informed decisions, and take corrective steps in instances that require data updates, edits, or corrections
- Contribute to playbooks to continuously improve our documentation
- Use data analysis techniques to measure the impact of product defects
Who You Are

- You have a Bachelor’s degree
- You have written and spoken English fluency and the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences in a calm, empathetic manner
- You are able to develop hypotheses with limited information to quickly solve ambiguous or complex problems
- You are able to manage and communicate with stakeholders while driving issue resolution and advocating for users
- You have a working knowledge of SQL, Python, Docker, AWS (specifically S3 and IAM) and are skilled at tracing through logs to identify root causes of failures
- You are comfortable navigating organizational complexity and demonstrate good judgment to pull in relevant SMEs to drive toward timely resolution of issues when necessary
Optional
- You have a technical degree (computer science,engineering or related)
- You have experience with data pipelines / ETL
- You have experience supporting full stack applications and can debug JavaScript, Python, and database performance issues
- You have experience in the medical research field and/or are familiar with oncology concepts
- You have experience working with agile scrum software engineering teams
