Flatiron Health and Vector Oncology today announced a partnership that enables oncology providers to easily gather and view patient-reported symptoms at the point of care by using Vector Oncology’s Patient Care Monitor™ integrated with OncoEMR®.

OncoEMR is a cloud-based electronic medical record (EMR) designed to address key concerns within an oncology clinic: treatment, disease and business management. Backed by decades of oncology experience, OncoEMR is the leading EMR for medical oncology and certified to support eligible providers with meeting Stage 1 and Stage 2 Meaningful Use measures.

The Patient Care Monitor is a proprietary, web-based technology platform that collects data from patients at the point of care and between visits regarding 86 physical symptoms across treatment side effects, impairment, acute distress, and despair and depression. Informed by twelve years of oncology practice and patient experience, and enhanced by new custom survey building and mobile features, the Patient Care Monitor is the leading patient engagement platform for capturing real-world patient reported outcomes information and insights.

By integrating Vector Oncology’s Patient Care Monitor with OncoEMR, oncology care providers can gain additional insights to support quality of life and alleviate symptom burden for cancer patients.

“We are excited to partner with Vector Oncology, as we share a similar goal of leveraging technology to improve the quality of cancer care for patients,” said Nat Turner, co-founder and CEO, Flatiron Health. “This alliance will enable us to further support oncology providers with additional insights at the point of care.”

In addition, Flatiron Health and Vector Oncology will collaborate on various studies involving health outcomes and economic endpoints in support of clinical research efforts and real-world evidence generation.

“The integration of Flatiron’s OncoEMR with our Patient Care Monitor will create an unmatched source of real world clinical and patient reported outcomes intelligence to improve the quality of cancer care and demonstrate the effectiveness and value of treatments,” said Mike Choukas, CEO, Vector Oncology.

In addition, Lee Schwartzberg, MD, FACP, president and chief medical officer for Vector Oncology, will serve as a medical advisor to Flatiron Health as the company continues to expand its innovative technology suite in support of the oncology community.

“The partnership between Vector Oncology and Flatiron Health creates a transformative opportunity to leverage our rich experience collecting PRO data with Flatiron’s comprehensive EMR platform to achieve meaningful improvements in cancer care,” said Dr. Schwartzberg.
