Northwest Medical Specialties Select Flatiron Health’s OncoEMR® to Accelerate Clinical Transformation

Published

January 2015

Flatiron Health today announced that Northwest Medical Specialties, a leading provider of care for cancer and infectious diseases in the Puget Sound region of Washington, has selected OncoEMR® to help transform their delivery of high quality, comprehensive cancer care.

Healthcare IT such as electronic medical records (EMRs) can be a key component in how a clinic redesigns the way care is delivered at all levels. By implementing new technology and processes, clinics can move towards a care delivery model that focuses on continuous, evidence-based patient care – from initial diagnosis, through treatment and advance care planning.

“Northwest Medical Specialties is dedicated to providing compassionate, high quality and cost-effective medical services to patients facing cancer,” said Sibel Blau, MD, Northwest Medical Specialties. “We believe OncoEMR can help our clinic set up appropriate processes and achieve quality and cost objectives.”

OncoEMR is a leading cloud-based EMR designed specifically for oncology and was developed by Altos Solutions Inc. (acquired by Flatiron in May 2014). It is a key product of the Flatiron Health OncoCloud™ integrated software suite, which includes advanced analytics through OncoAnalytics™ as well as the SeeYourChart® patient portal and integrated claims system.

Northwest Medical Specialties currently leverages Flatiron’s OncoAnalytics within their clinic. By integrating Flatiron’s OncoAnalytics and OncoEMR, Northwest Medical Specialties can access deeper insights into the quality of care provided to their patients while identifying opportunities for enhancement. In addition, Flatiron’s technology and advanced data analytics will enable Northwest Medical Specialties to report on pathways compliance and quality metrics, as well as provide cost analysis related to emergency room visits and hospitalizations.
